Based at the Deeside and Yale campuses at Coleg Cambria, the Exams Team is responsible for making sure all exams run smoothly. We also issue selected results and make sure students receive their certificates and can support students with applications for special consideration, and applications for scripts and clerical checks.
Please see below responses to Frequently Asked Questions regarding exams and certificates:
If you are sitting a written A-level, GCSE, BTEC and City and Guilds Technical exam then you will receive an email providing you with important exam information including your timetable. You will also receive a reminder text and email the day before each exam confirming your start time, venue and seat number. Rooms may be subject to change so you should check the Cambria App regularly for updates.
If you are taking an online or paper on-demand exam, your tutor will tell you the date, time and room.
Access arrangements will only be put in place where they have been recommended by an approved learning needs assessor. You should contact the Inclusion Team who will determine what adjustments are available. The Exams Office works closely with the Inclusion Team to ensure that access adjustments are in place. Please note that the Exams Office will only put in place adjustments which have been approved by the Inclusion Team.
A timetable clash is when two or more exams are scheduled for the same day and time. If you are taking two or more exams in a session within the same day and the total combined time is three hours or less, the exams must be taken consecutively within the timetabled session, if the combined time is more than three hours, these will usually be sat on the same day with supervision in between. The Exams Office will confirm these arrangements to you in writing.
If you missed your exam, please let the Exams Office know by email: exams@cambria.ac.uk providing information on the exam you missed and also the reasons why you were unable to sit. We will then be able to provide you with information on the next steps.
In the first instance contact your tutor and let them know, and they can get in touch with the Exams Office. Alternatively please email exams@cambria.ac.uk.
If you start feeling unwell during the exam please let the invigilator know.
Please do not contact the awarding body directly. The Exams Office can apply for Special Consideration on your behalf. You will be asked to provide a statement and must be able to provide evidence such as a doctor’s note.
Please note that Special Consideration applications are time sensitive and have strict deadlines. You will need to inform the College as soon as possible after your exam (for AAT exams this must be reported within 24 hours of the exam).
National Results days
Results for written A-level, GCSE, BTEC, WJEC and City and Guilds exams, as well as BTEC, WJEC and UAL qualification results are only made available on specific national Results days.

Specific instructions and deadlines will be emailed to you along with your results on Results day. Curriculum staff will be available on results days to discuss your results.
If you want to make a request for a copy of your exam paper or a remark / clerical check, please contact exams@cambria.ac.uk as soon as possible after receiving your result. Fees may be payable. Please do not contact the awarding body directly.
Please remember that when you request a remark, you agree that your overall grade can go up, down, or stay the same.
Please note that the awarding bodies have strict deadlines for these applications so don’t leave it too late to apply after receiving your result.
