Ending Period Poverty

Coleg Cambria is committed to being part of combatting Period Poverty. Period Poverty and the impact of the cost of living should not hold you back from coming to College.

‘In 2017, a survey (Plan International UK) reported that 1 in 10 girls had been unable to afford sanitary products; 1 in 7 had to ask to borrow sanitary wear from a friend due to affordability issues; and 1 in 10 had to improvise sanitary wear. It is estimated that currently over 137,000 children across the UK have missed school days due to period poverty.’

At Coleg Cambria, we provide a range of sanitary products to help with the cost of buying these necessary products.

Sanitary towels and tampons are found in all of our toilets, on every site. There are also products kept on each Reception Desk.

Don’t feel embarrassed about asking for anything. These are your products and you have the right to them.
